Tape for making insulation for rotating electric high voltage (HV) machines

The tape is used to form an insulation of a coil for rotating electric machines as they are already used in practice as insulating tapes, glow protection tapes or cover tapes. Partial thermoplastic or duroplastic fluid and equalising masses (2) are arranged on the lower side of the tape (1) in the region which is overlapped by the next layer of the tape (1), according to the degree of overlap. The fluid masses are fluid in the temperature range between 60 and 70 deg. C. The method of manufacture of such tape involves providing the tape from a supply roll (4) via a slit carrier roll (5) or a slit nozzle with the fluid mass. The tape is then pressed against the coil body using a press roller (6). During the hardening the fluid mass is provided in the resulting spaces.
