Unsaturated polyester resin based sheet and bulk moulding compound

A resin paste (I) for the preparation of conductive, flame resistant moulded articles (II) comprising fibre reinforced unsaturated polyester resin,contains (A) 100 pts. wt. unsaturated polyester resin (B) 10-100 pts. wt. thermoplastic polymer, optionally replaced by another thermoplastic up to 50 wt.% (C) 3-20 pts. wt. carbon black (D) 300-600 pts. wt. aluminium oxide trihydrate (E) 0.2-4 pts. wt. radical initiator and optionally (F) other conventional additives. (I) has a resistance (DIN 53482) of 103 - 109 Ohm and a viscosity of 40,000 - 120,000 mPa.s at 23 deg C. (II) are also claimed and comprise 10-20 wt.% (A), 2-20 wt.% (B), 0.5-3 wt.% (C), 40-75 wt.% (D), 0.1-0.8 wt.% magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide and 10-30 wt.% glass fibres. (II) have a resistance of 103 - 109 Ohm.
