Selectively hydrogenated block terpolymer, is useful as phase modifier for polymer blends

The selective hydrogenation of a block terpolymer (I) consisting of a block (A) consisting of conjugated diene monomers, a block (B) consisting of vinylic or olefinic monomers containing a functional group and a block (C) consisting of a vinyl aromatic monomer is claimed. Block (A) is selectively hydrogenated using hydrogen in the presence of a RhCl(P(C6H5)3)3 or RuCl(P(C6H5)3)3 catalyst.Also claimed are: (i) the resulting hydrogenated block copolymer (ii) moulded articles, film or fibres containing the hydrogenated block copolymer.
