Prefabricated modular wall panel in building

The wall panel (1) for use in a building is prefabricated in a factory and consists of a number of rectangular building blocks (2) which may be laid in four courses. The ends of the panel may be made of alternate full-length blocks and half-blocks to give a smooth vertical edge. The four courses of blocks are laid on a foundation beam (3) which stretches the full length of the wall panel. The cross-section of the entire beam is square or rectangular, and has three equispaced cutouts (4) in its bottom surface. The beam consists of an inverted T-shaped reinforced concrete beam (9) with an inverted T-shaped cover (10) made of eg. plain concrete. The lowermost course of blocks is laid on the flat top surface of this cover beam.
