Tool insert for separating plastic film web and cutting corners esp. for use in manufacture of plastic bags

The insert separates film web with simultaneous removal of corners. The insert has a first cutting edge to separate the film and at least two further cutting edges in a V-shape for cutting off the corners. The cutting edges are formed from a single strip blank (46), the first cutting edge being formed from a first section (52) of the blank, which is folded about a fold line (54) in the longitudinal direction of the blank. The two additional cutting edges are formed by cutting into a second section (48) and bending the two end sections (64, 66) outwards. The insert is made from a metal with a high specific electrical resistance.
