The device converts a linear to a rotary movement. It has a connecting rod as transfer element (1) with a finite linear movement (2) at one end and oval internal toothing (3) at the other moveable end. The toothing is guided on a non-turnable toothed gear (6) on a centrally born shaft (7). The gear meshes with the toothing on one side for rotation. An IC engine without crank drive has cylinders (10) with pistons (9), connected to a moveable connecting rod. The rod has a power transmission element with oval internal toothing at one end. The engine shaft carries a toothed gear, meshing with the toothing. The element has a closed guide track (8) at other end with three slide/roller bodies (4).
