The system includes an integrator (6,7) for the voltage drop at the winding resistance. A comparator (8) is arranged counter coupled at the output of the integrator. The counter coupling is so selected, that at its output a voltage appears, proportional to the current flowing through the winding. The coil of a storage inductance (1) may be provided in the load circuit of a switching regulator, as a coil (4) through which the current flows. The output signal of the comparator may be provided in a switching regulator, for the output current or power limitation.
