A new reactor thermally de-polymerises or -cracks plastics, especially waste plastic materials. It produces gaseous, fluid and solid hydrocarbons. The outlet for sump product is situated at the base of the reactor. The outlet for cracked products is at the top. The new feature is located high, centrally or low in the reactor, comprising a system of nozzles, directed onto concentric built-in fittings (16).
