A centrifugal drum granulating and coating arrangement for a powder or granular material includes a disc (5) which can be rotated in a horizontal direction by a drive mechanism, and a cylindrical fixed wall (7) surrounding and placed at a distance from the disc. A section (7a) of the wall (7) which comes into contact with the powder or granular material during the centrifuging process extends vertically. Seen in a vertical cross section of the rotating disc (5), the whole, or an outer part (5b), whose dimensions (P) in a horizontal direction lie within an area defined by P - 0.25D (where D is the diameter of the disc), is formed in such a way that a section is obtained which extends downwards at an angle towards the centre. The height (H) of this section lies within a range of 0.1D = H = 0.33D. Also claimed are a process for granulating a powder and a process for coating a powder or granulated material using the apparatus.
