The measurement and control unit for influencing the cooling process during forming of glass melts is characterised in that it consists of:( a) an optical temperature sensor within the region of 8-14 m for surface temperature measurement;(b) a control module for alteration of the cutting frequency of the machine on the basis of the mould surface temperature; (c) a measurement and control module for air humidity measurement, as well as for cutting frequency and mould surface temperature control; (d) a computer for processing the measure values and controlling the cooling process. The method claimed concerns use of these items for control of the cooling process.
