Honig honeycomb structure used as carrier for vehicle exhaust gas catalysts

Honig honeycomb structured body consists mainly of Kordierite. The starting material is talc of mean particle diameter 7-20 mu m and a CaO content of 0.2 wt.% and Kordierite material with a mean particle diameter } 1 mu m. The starting material is formed, cast or sprayed and fired to give a product with a cell wall thickness = 130 mu m. Also claimed is the production process. Preferably the Kordierite comprises 49-53 wt.% SiO2, 33-37 wt.% Al2O3 and 11.5-15.5 wt.% MgO. The cell wall thickness of the product is 100 mu m.
