The hook (1) and a counter hook are integrally joined. The hook's underside bearing surface (3) rests on battens and has an entry hole (4) against the end furthest from the hook. It is bent away from the hook in a U-shape, and the runs out forwards (6) towards the hook. This forward part is a penetrating dowel. The hook is made in one piece from galvanized metal sheeting, refined steel etc. In service, it is placed on the batten and driven in by the dowel, starting with the bottom tile and building up from this, inserting the respective tile flange below the hook etc. A nail is driven into the hole to make the hook fast.
