The supply of water is carried out at the same time as the removal of the waste water. A self-cleaning waste water filter is placed in front of the heat exchanger in the waste water flow. This prevents the heat exchanger from being contaminated. Several ribbed pipe- or plate heat exchangers make the heat exchange surface larger than if flat pipe heat exchangers were used.
