Burner for stoichiometric combustion of a liquid or gaseous fuel

The burner is for stoichiometric combustion of gaseous or liquid fuel, and comprises an atomiser nozzle to which the fuel is fed, and which is enclosed by a pipe delivering combustion air from a fan. The combustion chamber is formed by a burner tube extending into a boiler and containing a baffle plate. At the forward end of the combustion chamber (20) the tube (11) contains a narrowing portion (31) protruding into it and preferably running round the periphery. USE/ADVANTAGE - Good combustion particularly when starting up, with consequent reduction of nitrous oxide emission.
