Device for the return of tobacco from rejected cigarettes from a cigarette making machine

At least two cigarette machines have an allocated device to return and distribute a separated volume of tobacco from and back to the machines depending on their current condition. The returned tobacco is divided according to the number of cigarettes produced by each machine. The tobacco outlet (1) of the device is directed via a dispenser (3) to two adjacent collectors (9, 10) the horizontal position of the outlet, relative to the collectors, being governed by the operating state of the allocated machines. The dispenser can be swivelled horizontally in the vertical plane by a pneumatic cylinder (6) and the tobacco is distributed to the machines in timed alternation, using the cutter signal of a filter downstream of the cigarette machine to represent the operating state of the machine.
