Process for treating the cement lining of a pipe esp. for the supply of drinking water to form an inner layer in the region of the internal face of the lining is novel in that the internal face of the lining is treated with NaH2PO4 (sodium dihydrogenphosphate) and/or NaHCO3 (sodium hydrogencarbonate) before installation and/or before use of the pipe.
