PURPOSE:To improve operability and observability by controlling a measuring section to the optimum measuring conditions in a wide-band spectrum display and a narrow-band spectrum display. CONSTITUTION:Receiving positional information C4 and width information D4 of a zone marker from a zone setting memory 12, a first means 14 determines a center frequency or a narrow band width of the narrow-pand spectral representation to be stored into an FG setting memory 13. Receiving center information A3 and span information B3 of the narrow-band spectrum display from the memory 13, a second means 15 determines a position and a width of the zone marker in a wide-band spectral representation to be stored into a memory 12. A display control section 9 shows a wide-band spectrum and a narrow-band spectrum stored in a BG waveform memory 18a and a FG waveform memory 8b on a display device 2 separately. Then, a measurement control section 7h controls parts so that a relationship between a measuring band width controllable, sweep time and resolutions band width satisfied a formula. This enables measurement with a measuring device optimum in measuring error of spectrum.
