Paging receiver with detection of the data - speed to the continuation of the reception of the address data

In an address receiving mode of a paging receiver, an addresscodeword contained in each successive batch of a paging signal iscompared with the address of the receiver to detect a match. The speedof data pulses generated by the receiving section are checked to see if itis in a prescribed speed range. If the receiver fails to detect an addressmatch in one of the batches due to fading, it continuously receives theaddress codewords in successive batches, rather than returning tostandby mode, if the data pulse speed is determined to be in theprescribed range.
