In order to underpin the foundations of a building comprising, buried at one and the same level, two outer soles (5, 6) and an intermediate sole (7), two cavities (13, 14) externally running along each of the two outer soles are hollowed out of the ground (4); a straight metal tube (15) is placed horizontally facing the adjacent sole (5) in one of these cavities (13); the said tube is driven horizontally successively into this sole then into the other two until it emerges in the second cavity (14); two piles (11) are installed in the bottoms of the two cavities vertically in line with the openings of the tube; a cement slurry is injected into the tube so as to form a horizontal rigid beam (12) securing the three soles together; and two reinforced concrete blocks (24) capable of securing each beam end to the adjoining pile head are formed.
