SPINAL OSTEOSYNTHESIS DEVICE WITH MEDIAN HOOK AND VERTEBRAL ANCHOR SUPPORT

The device consists of two lengthwise rods (7) which are fixed to the spinal column and extend on either side of a section of it, transverse connectors for the rods and vertebral fixings. For each vertebra the apparatus has a hook (12) and two thrust elements, with transverse connectors (28) between the hook and the two rods (7). The hook (12) comprises a body with recesses to receive the transverse connectors, and there are adjusters to vary the position of the hook relative to the rods. It has a vane (14) shaped to rest on a central zone of the vertebra's posterior arch in the broadest part of the medullary canal, and two lateral sections (18, 19) with recesses for the connectors and holes for fixing screws. The lateral sections have lugs (35, 36) which extend parallel to the vane and form stops.
