The large scrap collection container has a cover (3) attached to the container (1) by a hinge. A cap (4) is fitted to the cover. The cap houses a triangular-section bucket (5) into which scrap is placed and then emptied into the collector. The bucket can be locked and is carried on pivots so it can be tilted to drop the scrap into the collector. The bucket is connected to counter mechanisms (14) having a count indicator (11) to show the number of times the bucket has been emptied into the collector. The bucket is unlocked by a key. There are different keys provided for each user, and the use of a key activates a counter unique to that user.
