Temporary or permanent safety barrier for roads and motorways

The barrier is made of prefabricated, concrete sections (1) with metal rings (7, 8) at each end. Tubular or solid posts are passed through these rings of two adjacent sections and hammered into the ground (15) to secure the barrier in position. Each section has a central, vertical hole (17) for an additional anchor post (9). At the top of the posts (11) there are openings (12) for the insertion of a device to remove the anchor posts. The vertical holes are enlarged at the top (18) and are square in shape. The anchor posts may pass through anchor plates (13) which are fixed to the ground. Each anchor plate consists of a horizontal plate which rests on the ground with a central, vertical tube (16) which is buried in the ground. The post passes through the tube.
