Shock absorbing panel mounting for roadways

The panels (7,8) are mounted on a profiled section of T or H shaped cross section with a web (2) and at least one flange (3,4). The two panels have adjacent edges (9,10) fixed to the flange (3) at either side of the web. The mounting has a yoke (13) to hold the panels against an exterior face of the flange opposite the web. the yoke is connected to the flange by a retaining rod (19) which extends in the plane of the web. The retaining rod extends across a passage (23) formed in the flange and fits into an opening (24) in the web to receive a coupling for the rod to the profile. The web can have a stop (14) cooperating with the flange to limit the extent of the retaining coupling.
