The invention relates to a process of formation of a rib (10) around the outer circumference of a male part (9) formed at one end of a pipe (8). This method comprises the steps which consist in placing around the outer circumference of the male part (9) a ring (13) having a certain thickness of the wall in its radial direction and having a peripheral groove (14) on its outer circumference, by casting a molten metal in the groove (14) to melt the bottom (15) of the groove and the surface of the male part (9); and to connect together the ring (13) and the male part (9).
