The crate is made from two identical cardboard blanks (2,2') each having two rectangular flaps (3,3,4,4'). The flaps are connected together by parallel folding lines (5,5'). Side flaps (7,7') are connected to one side of the first flaps by second folding lines (6,6') perpendicular to the first folding lines. The side flaps have a double folding line (9,9') biased at 45 deg. from one end of the second folding line junction with the first flap. The double line defines a triangular end portion (10,10') with the first flap. A second trapezoidal flap (8,8') has a side (11,11') biased at 45 deg. so as to be opposite the double folding line during formation of the crate, the flaps automatically forming the bottom of the crate.
