Torsional vibration damping device (10) in a transmission line connecting an engine to the drive wheels of a vehicle. The device comprises an oscillating mass device (23) coupled to the crankshaft (12) rotating about an axis (A), a second oscillating mass device (33) coupled to the first device (23) for rotating in common around the axis (A) and to rotate relative to the first device (23) by a spring device (48). A third oscillating weight device (54) is coupled to the transmission line to rotate around the axis (A); it is mounted upstream of the spring device (48) in the direction of the passage of forces. The third device (54) is decoupled from the transmission line when a given operating state is reached.
