The invention relates to a clamp (1) for temporarily connecting two successive rails (4) of a track using connecting tabs (8). This consists respectively of a clamping piece (2) on each side of the rail (4) and a clamping screw (3) connecting them, which respectively have a nut (9) and a flap safety (10) fixed to the clamping piece (2) and adjustable relative thereto to secure the nut (9) against rotation. The shutter (10) is housed in a guide (12) of the clamping part (2) for the distance of the shutter (10) from the clamping screw (3). A blocking device (16) prevents the flap (10) from pivoting by being set apart relative to the clamping screw (3) automatically when the lowest travel position of the flap (10) is reached. The invention is applicable in particular in the field of railway construction.
