Surveillance system for harsh environment animal monitoring

The system has a charge coupled detector (CCD) camera (8) and lighting equipment (9,10) mounted in a globe section which can move in azimuth and elevation (2). The units rotation gives 2 PI steradian sweep capability. The upper section (3) of the globe is cut off, so as to produce a flat upper surface (1) beyond the hemispherical diameter. The upper surface allows attachment and electrical inputs and provides heat exchangers to remove the heat generated by the lighting. The units are sealed in the globe enclosure.
