A hologram observation method for estimating a three-dimensional distribution of wave sources by a hologram observation comprises the following steps: a hologram observation at two different frequencies (101) is performed and an image is reconstructed for each frequency (102); three-dimensional coordinates of a selected wave source (104) are obtained; an observed wave is synthesized by assuming that there exists a virtual unit wave source at the coordinates obtained in the preceding step and reconstructing a hologram image from the synthesized result (105, 106); and a true wave source intensity is obtained by a ratio between the intensity in the reconstructed image in the previous step and the actual intensity of the selected source (107).
