PERSONAL PORTABLE LIFE-SAVING REEL DEVICE

A personal portable life-saving device comprising a housing 10, a reel set including a main reel 20 with a metal strap (4, figure 3) wound round the main reel and received in a strap groove 24, at least one guide roller 23 and a braking unit 30. At the upper end of the housing concealed within an upper cover 11 there is disposed a chest strap (50, figure 3) for fastening round the user's upper body and a rope 40 and snap ring 41 for attaching to a fixed object (figure 5). At the lower end of the housing, concealed within a lower cover 12, is a hips strap 51 for fastening round the user's hips. The braking effect is adjustable and is controlled manually by means of a foldable handle 34 on a control disk 33 which turns a screw rod in order to exert a pressing force against braking plates 30. A rewinding disk 27 is situated externally on the housing 10 for turning the main reel 20 to rewind the metal strap 4 after use.
