PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc alloy for metal mold which has improved durability and in which temperature in casting is lowered and energy cost reduction, facilitation of casting and working, prolongation of life of melting pot, and shortening of solidification time after pouring are attained and further the occurrence of porosity is inhibited and also to provide a metal mold and a block for metal mold which are produced by casting this zinc alloy. ;SOLUTION: The zinc alloy for metal mold, in which the occurrence of porosity is inhibited, has a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.5-2.5% magnesium, 3-5% aluminum, 2-4% copper, and the balance zinc with inevitable impurities and containing, if necessary, one or more kinds among 0.03-0.2% titanium, 0.03-0.2% zirconium, 0.03-0.2% boron, and 0.03-0.2% lanthanoide seriese and also has ≤390°C initial solidification temperature and ≥150 Vickers hardness.
