PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modernizing a heterogeneous synthetic reaction device of the type containing at least a radiation type or an axis-radiation type bed so as to enable to utilize a new conceptional catalyst having always large reaction activity in order to improve a conversion yield and reduce consumption of energy with a simple and reliable method and further with a lower investment and a lower working cost. ;SOLUTION: The modernizing method of the heterogeneous synthetic reactor contains a step for presenting a non-pored cylindrical wall 15 having a common axis with a gas outlet wall 8 of the radiation type or the axis-radiation type catalyst bed 6, and a step for trying a method for closing a free space 16 between the non-pored wall 15 and the gas outlet wall 8 in the vicinity of the upper end 8a of the gas outlet wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
