In the manufacturing method of a composite insulator composed of a core member, a gripper fixed to both end portions of the core member, and a sheath formed of a sheath portion and a cap portion formed on the outer periphery of the core member, vulcanization is adhered to the cover and the metal fitting. In addition, caulking or packing members are used so that the material to be formed does not flow into the seal portion. Thus, the sealing performance of the adhesive interface between the gripper and the cover can be improved.
