PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid handrail and handrail modesty panels capable of facilitating the constructing work of a handrail in a handrail structure for the balcony of a mid-to-high-rise dwelling house. ;SOLUTION: In a handrail to be construed on the end of a balcony, the middle part of a handrail strut 101 is fixed to the end 3 of the balcony so as to extend over an upper floor part and a lower floor part. The lower end of the handrail strut 101 is fixed to the wall surface 4 of a building 1 of the lower floor part through a connecting lever 110, a surface of lattice structure or surface of panel structure is formed between a plurality of rails 103, (104, 105) horizontally laid between the handrail struts 101, 101, and a handrail coping 102 is fixed to the top end of the handrail strut 101.
