METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FINE METALLIC PIECES WITH EMBOSS PATTERN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity in a simple process and reduce cost by forming concavo-convex emboss pattern on surface of metallic foil by pressing dies having emboss patterns against both surfaces of a metallic foil. ;SOLUTION: A Ni plate with emboss patterns on its surface is used as a die 10, and the dies 10 are pressed against both surfaces of a metallic foil 12 such as an aluminum foil with a press, thereby forming the emboss patterns on the surface of the metallic foil 12. Then the embossed metallic foil 12, which being attached to the dies 10, is immersed in given liquid, and the metallic foil 12 is separated from the dies 10 by applying ultrasonic wave with an ultrasonic cleaning machine, and at the same time it is crushed into thin pieces of smaller than 50 μm. Through the above processes, fine metallic pieces having the emboss patterns to be used as hologram pigment are produced. Since the emboss pattern is transferred well onto the metallic foil and the producing process is simple, productivity can be enhanced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
