PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce mount positional deviation and soldering failure and to provide a ≥100 MHz frequency in a fundamental frequency by making the dimensions of a supporting part different from a vibrating part of an AT cut quartz resonator. ;SOLUTION: For instance, the appropriate size of a resonator mounted on ϕ3×9 mm case is approximately 5 to 6 mm in length (L) and 1.55 to 1.8 mm in width (W). However, since impact resistance becomes worse empirically when the width (W) dimension of a resonator is ≥1.6 mm, the W dimension is limited to ≤1.6 mm in the stage of a design. Although the W dimension having no spurious is decided experimentally, problems such as positional deviation and soldering failure easily occur at the time of mounting it on an inner reed when its dimension becomes 1.55 mm. Therefore, under the limited condition, a resonator which has strong impact resistance and does not have spurious is stably obtained by designing the dimension of a supporting part, e.g. within the range of 1.0 to 1.8 mm and the dimension of a vibrating part within the range of 1.0 to 1.6 mm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
