SOLUTION: In the image forming method, only one description area or over except the background part of an original is detected (3), an image characteristic amount of the description area is calculated (7), and any of layout patterns consisting of address information of at least the description area is decided (12) based on the calculated image characteristic amount. Then according to the decided layout pattern, the image of the description area of the original or the illustration and the image of the description area of the original are laid out respectively to generate (15) the image.
