PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new sequence, wherein a DNA sequence encoding a signal peptide-added syphilis treponema surface antigen is fused with a DNA sequence encoding a secretion-related enzyme, affording an antigen useful as e.g. an immunoassay reagent enabling highly sensitive assay. ;SOLUTION: This sequence is a new syphilis treponema-fused DNA sequence, wherein, a DNA sequence encoding a signal peptide-added syphilis treponema surface antigen is fused with a DNA sequence encoding a secretion-related enzyme, and useful for the production of a large amount of a lipid-bound and highly reactive syphilis treponema antigen. By using this antigen as an immunoassay reagent, the syphilis treponema can be assayed in a more specific and highly sensitive way. This DNA sequence is obtained by specifically amplifying the DNA sequence for the signal-syphilis treponema antigen in the native DNA sequence for syphilis treponema, through a PCR technique using a primer and fusing the resultant DNA sequence for the signal-syphilis treponema antigen with the DNA sequence for a secretory enzyme through e.g. ligation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
