PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose structural body of an analytical element which can be used at all times in spite of the anarite of an object to be measured. ;SOLUTION: An analytical element contains a sample applying band area 1 and a detecting band area 2 located downstream from the sample applying band area 1 in or on a material which enables the transfer of a liquid between the band areas 1 and 2, and the detecting band area 2 contains a partner 1 of a specifically bound pair 1. Here, the partner 1 of the specifically bound pair 1 is immobilized so that the partner 1 of the specifically bound pair 1 can be bound to a non-anarite partner 2 of the specifically bound pair 1 at the time when they come into contact with each other. The multi-purpose structural body of the analytical element provides a basis that rationalizes the development of an analytical element which holds all reagents for detecting one anarite or more in comparison with effort for development required before, and therefore it is possible to shorten a period for development.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
