METHOD FOR PROMOTING DISCHARGE OF SLUG FOR ASH MELTING FURNACE AND ASH MELTING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote discharge of slug through the slug discharge opening of an ash melting furnace without remarkably increasing melting energy and the damage of an ash melting furnace. ;SOLUTION: In a flying ash melting furnace 2, an oxygen burner 4 for a slug supply opening is arranged independently from an oxygen burner 34 so that the vicinity of a slug discharge opening 44 through which from a molten substance pool 42 flows over is heated. Besides, the oxygen burner is positioned such that the flame 10 thereof makes contact with just surface of slug. Glass powder is supplied through a raw material supply port 12 to the vicinity of the slug discharge port 44 and heated by an oxygen burner 4 for a feed port. This constitution causes glass powder to rect with the slug, lowers a melt point, and causes smooth outflow of the slug through the slug discharge opening 44.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
