PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM multiplex broadcasting receiver with a voice recognition/synthesis device capable of improving operability and convenience by providing a means for utilizing the technique of voice recognition and interactively giving an instruction to a device by a user at the time of performing the operation of outputting received and stored character data to a display device as voice by using a display or a voice synthesizer in the receiver of FM teletext multiplex broadcasting for superimposing character signals on the same frequency as FM sound signals and transmitting them. ;SOLUTION: FM multiplex broadcasting received by an antenna 1 is passed through the process of demodulation/error correction or the like and recorded in a storage device 10 as the character data. The instruction, which is spoken by a user, to the device is recognized by the voice recognition device 12, and based on the result, a CPU 9 pulls out the data from the storage device 10 and displays them at a display device 8 or outputs them as the voice through the voice synthesizer 13.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
