To prevent a member coming into contact with the sulfuric acid solution whose sulfuric acid concentration and liquid temperature and high or sulfuric acid mist whose temperature is high from becoming eroded or worn out, carbon ceramic is used for the member coming into contact with sulfuric acid solution and/or the sulfuric acid mist. The carbon ceramic to be used is preferably carbon ceramic comprising the C-ceramic dispersed in a graphite matrix. Further, the C-ceramic is preferably one or more kinds selected from SiC, B4 C, TiC, Mo2 C or the like.
