PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a shredding device and save on a manufacturing cost by providing a part with a small shared width at every specified interval while longitudinally shredding a scrapped paper in the feed direction and shredding the scrapped paper in the crosswise direction into shreds while shredding the scrapped paper longitudinally at the part with the small shred width. ;SOLUTION: Rotary blades 5..., 6... are obliquely implanted into rotary shafts 3, 4 to be rotated by drive gears 1, 2 so that a pair of blade parts 5a, 6a which are opposed to each other in the radial direction, rotate mutually in contact with each other. In addition, scraping protrusion pieces 5b..., 6b... are attached to each of the edge parts where the interval between the blade parts 5a..., 6a... is narrowest. When using this shredding device, a scrapped paper is fed into a clearance between the rotary blades 5..., 6... and is sent out through a shredding process, in a rhombic form with a large width in the center part and a small width at both end parts. In this case, the scraping protrusion pieces 5b..., 6... pinch and pull the scrapped paper threaded to the almost rhombic shape and consequently, the scrapped paper is scraped at the part with the small width and is reduced to a rhombic shred a, which is, in turn, cut laterally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
