PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sloshing phenomenon suppressing type water tank capable of suppressing the sloshing phenomenon in which the liquid surface in the water tank is violently oscillated in an earthquake, the splashed water is concentratedly applied to a part of an upper lid, the upper lid is destroyed or a side plate is broken, resulting in the total loss of the water tank. ;SOLUTION: A plurality of bulkheads 10 are provided in the vertical direction in a water tank 10. The sloshing phenomenon is stronger as the horizontal dimension is larger than the depth of the water tank. The intensity of the sloshing phenomenon caused by the horizontal vibration is reduced by installing a plurality of bulkheads in the water tank to substantially reduce the dimension in the horizontal direction, and the water pressure applied to the upper lid 3 is reduced during the vibration caused by an earthquake.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
