METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING CROOK IN WIDTH DIRECTION OF LONG BODY, MANUFACTURE OF THE LONG BODY AND MANUFACTURE OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity by providing a tension-giving means between the front end side and rear end side of a long body, and measuring a crook in the width direction in comparison with a reference line, thereby accurately measuring to quantify a crook amount. ;SOLUTION: Base frames 3 are provided at the right and left in the longitudinal direction on a base 2. And, yarn fixing bases 5 are provided at insides of the frames 3 near front and rear ends. Yarns 6 made of nylon for indicating side edge positions of a sample film 10 are elastically installed via the bases 5 in a longitudinal direction. The film 10 is fixed at its longitudinal end to an upper surface of the base 2 by an adhesive tape 7. A weight 8 is placed on the film 10 between rollers 4 of longitudinal end sides to give tension equivalent to that at the time of drying a raw fabric film. Positions of the bases 5 are regulated to match the side edge positions of the front and rear ends of the film 10. A deviation C of the side edge position at an intermediate part of the film 10 from a reference line is measured with the yarn 6 installed between the bases 5 as a reference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
