PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a bridge girder as a passive type and correspond to variation s in the wind direction. ;SOLUTION: Wind resistant structure of a bridge girder is so constituted that passive deformation members 2 and 2 are provided to both edges of a cross section of the bridge section 1. The passive deformation members 2 is so constituted that straightening plates 4 are mounted to both edges of the bridge girder 1 through hinges 3 incorporating springs inside them, the whole deformation characteristics decided from the shape or the quality of the material or flexibility and hysteresis characteristics, etc., of each of the hinges 3, or the deformation characteristics to find out how degree can the straightening plates 4 incline to either side when they are exposed to the wind is so set that response value occurring in the bridge girder 1 is minimized against design external force including the wind direction and the velocity of the wind set in advance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
