PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life deciding device capable of simply deciding the life of a lead-acid battery in a short time, easily even at a job site at low cost, and applicable to both sealed type and open type lead-acid batteries. SOLUTION: A lead-acid battery 41 is discharged in a discharge circuit 50 with large current for a short time by varying resistance of a resistance part 57, discharge current and discharge voltage of each case are measured by a current detecting part 51 and a voltage detecting part 52, and the discharge voltage corresponding to a specified discharge current is determined by calculation, based on two measured discharge currents and discharge voltages by a computing deciding part 54. The discharge voltage is compared with a discharge voltage previously set as the reference value of the life decision, and when the obtained discharge voltage is lower than the reference value, it is decided that the battery life is over.
