PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microbial material capable of rapidly degrading not only mowed residue of grass but also thatch by the migration thereof into a soil, providing no bad effect to environment such as the soil and organisms, also capable of degrading a pseudo thatch layer and capable of promoting formation of turf in a golf course. SOLUTION: This microbe mixture composition comprises 1 pts.wt. Bacillus macerans capable of degrading mowed residue of grass and thatch, and 5-30 pts.wt. clayey mineral. The microbial material comprises 100 pts.wt. microbe mixture composition, 50-100 pts.wt. ionic surfactant, one or more kinds selected from a group of 50-100 pts.wt. casein and 50-100 pts.wt. casein degradation product, and 50-200 pts.wt. saccharides.
