PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the appropriate color correction of composite images gener ated by fitting user images to template images and compositing them. SOLUTION: The fitting position of a user image on a template image is stipulated by masking information and the template image and the masking information are related beforehand. The user image is fitted to the position on the template image stipulated by the masking information and a composite image is generated. Data for indicating the generated composite image and the corresponding masking information are transmitted from a client computer to this image synthesis device. In the image composition device, the masking information is referred to and the template image and the user image for constituting the composite image are mutually separated. The separated template image and the user image are separately color-corrected. The separately color- corrected template image and the user image are composited again by using the masking information.
