GUST AND FLANK WIND-PROOF CONTAINER CHASSIS FOR MARINE CONTAINER TRANSPORTATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container chassis scaleable of performing stable tangling against gust or flank wind for transporting two 20-feet marine containers at the same time. ;SOLUTION: A container chassis longer than a conventional container chassis is manufactured, space of about 90 cm to 100 cm is formed between front and rear containers and these containers are fixed to the container chassis. Thus, new vector backward in an advancing direction for receiving wind to the front face of the rear container is generated. On the other hand, when flank wind passes between the front and rear containers, a new vortex flow 4 is generated to counter this flank wind. These two types of effect can cope with the degradation in operability caused by wind, which is the weakness of a tractive type transportation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
